It's definitely been a busy and productive weekend and, if you're a member of my Party with Patrick club in your local quilt shop, you're gonna love the November project! But as much as I know you'll love it, you still have to wait a few weeks to see it ;-) I mean it, so don't start calling and emailing.
Speaking of the party, take a look at how one shop celebrated this month. The project of the month is a 15" round place mat with an appliqued jack-o'-lantern face. Recipes were offered for treats and lots of shops partied and made the project in Halloween style. Some even had costume parties!
Common Threads, in North Liberty, Iowa, (see the post below) sent in this picture of their group having a great time as they always do when they get together. I told them I wouldn't be teaching there anymore unless all rotary cutters and other sharp objects were checked by a uniformed officer at the door. Thanks to shop owner, Peg, and the gang (I miss you all) for including the rest of us :-) Peg had this to say in her email:
"I want you to know that the parties are very good for the shop. I limit space to ten and it is a nice night and also profitable. Last night we watched Young Frankenstein and sewed the place mats. Customers walking in are always intrigued too. Thanks for your hard work....Peg"
That's what I like to hear!
Who's going to Quilt Market in Houston? I'll be in Booth 1115 and would love to meet you so please pay us a visit if you're there. I'm also working on a Facebook page and I hope you'll all come by and introduce yourselves.
I really should call it a day but I have another binding I'd like to get done. You know the feeling you get when you can call another one "DONE!"? Well, this will be the 3rd project today. Yep, it's been a busy and good day.
Thanks for looking in on me ;-)
Patrick
