Day 2 - Mistletoe Make & Bake

Thanks for all of the comments from those who visited yesterday! Today we were asked to share a holiday sanity saver with you (what’s the one thing you do or don’t do to get through the season?)

I try to keep stress to a minimum even though it seems impossible. Having a shopping list of gifts that have been "requested" can cause stress, especially if they're hard-to-find things.

When it comes to the kids on my list, it's fun to shop for and give them the things they've been wishing for. But for other gifts, I'd rather get family members or friends the things they might not think to ask for or things that they wouldn't expect but I know they'd like. That cuts down on the stress a bit, at least in the shopping department.

So, I guess my advice would be to not ask everyone on your list what they want for Christmas. Take some time to think about what would really surprise them or make them happy and go for it! Give presents that you WANT to give. It's a lot more fun. Just ask Rudolph ;-)

Here are a couple of recipes I'd like to give you! ~

Ginger Snaps with Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Be sure to visit tomorrow because I'll have a fun free project for you to make and use throughout the holiday season or give as a wintry gift. These bloggers have something special for you today:
Cheers!

  2. Good idea about giving gifts you want to give. If you really know the recepient, you should be able to get it.... and it's lots more fun that way!

  5. I agree - sometimes buying someone exactly what is on their list is no fun for anyone. It's much nicer to come up with a surprise gift!

  7. Day #2 - Thank you, Patrick!
We still (the kids are all in their 20s) ask the kids to make out a Wish List! We save those lists too...often they have a note to Mom and Dad included!

  9. Thanks for sharing your recipe. In our family we have eliminated a lot of the stress of shopping by only buying presents for the children. So, it's fun to walk around the mall just because I want to, and not because I have to.

  17. We always had a rule with our kids; you can ask for something for your birthday, but not Christmas. Christmas is for giving from the heart, not about what you want;)

  21. I love the Rudolph pattern. Super cute. You are SO right about asking for lists from others. I do ask our children now that they are older and have moved out but they are also given the warning along with that request not to hold their breath on anything from the list. They know I am fairly good at getting something they will love but I ask to get some good ideas too. They just get that disclaimer not to expect what is on their lists.

Thanks again for another recipe. I love gingersnaps but have never tried them with a dip. This looks wonderful.

  33. I, too, was having problems with the link to the recipe. I think it is a browser issue. I usually use Google Chrome, so I thought I'd try Internet Explorer. Voila! success. Pumpkin Fluff with graham crackers sounds so good! Now I can go back and download yesterday's recipe.
