Facebook is making it increasingly impossible for the things we post on our Facebook pages to reach you without our paying for that delivery. We're happy to pay for advertising when it's useful, but we don't think every comment we post is advertising or worth paying to get it to you.
Because of this, we'll be getting back into blogging as a way of having all of our information in one, central location for you to visit and catch up on what's going on at Patrick Lose Studios. Be sure to subscribe to follow this blog and email updates will be sent to you so you don't miss anything!
As we posted on Facebook...and relatively few people saw: "How
about a little Christmas-in-July conversation? As soon as we
return to the studio after our Iowa State Fair gig, I'll be jumping into
some serious designing for Christmas! What are some themes you'd like
to see? What are some Christmas motifs you're looking for in machine
embroidery applique?" Let us know what you think in a comment, below.
Whatever you do, please make it accessible for a 7x12 hoop! I think stockings would be cool. Of course Christmas table decorations are always welcome. Maybe an advent calendar? Tree ornaments? I am pretty open.
ReplyDeleteI agree, while Facebook can be good for connecting, it is very easy for posts to slide by. Blogging may be the best way to get information.
It's not that posts are merely sliding by...which would be easier to understand. Facebook chooses how many/few of our fans are allowed to see our posts. It's become progressively worse and, even with several thousand fans, sometimes only 50 or so of them are "served" our posts. Facebook is a very different place these days :(
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear about your decision. This social medium has evolved and changed, and is not the best medium for certain communication choices in our industry. I am experiencing many of the same issues as you are. As a relatively new blogger and experienced professional writer, I still use it from time to time, and am evolving my blog craving a little more journalism. I am not a designer, and don't have a web site or a shop, but am finding my blog following is really increasing and my fb following very small. Great decision. I support you 100%. Thanks for the head's up from Anne Beier at www.hudsonvalleyquilts.com and have a good time in Iowa.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know about Facebook. I am signing up for your blog.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea how facebook worked. thank you for the explanation
