PWP Online!

Good news ~ Party with Patrick Online 1.0 (year one) is available to join on my website FINALLY! It took a long time to work out the bugs of setting up an online club but I know it will be worth it to bring the party to more of you.

The first quilter to join is John from Ohio and he gets a party gift for early arrival of a fat quarter pack of "Glitzmas" from Robert Kaufman Fabrics. Congrats and thanks to you, John. I hope you like the fabric and the first "party packet" from Party with Patrick Online 1.0.

Thanks to everyone for your patience as we worked to get the club online. I really appreciate your support of what I do and I hope this is a long and FUN party for us all! I'm happy to say that everyone can join us now, even if you don't have a local quilt shop that's participating. If you do have a local partying shop, remember that you can join there also because they're on year two now. The projects are completely different!

So, if you haven't joined yet, click here, put on your party hat, and celebrate quilting and camaraderie with us and get a "monthly dose of Patrick Lose"! ;-)

Cheers, all ~

Satinesque Stripe

I admit, that last post was a bit of an outburst because I couldn't even wait to tell you about getting Satinesque Stripe in my hands (click on the photo for a closer look). Only a true fabric addict would know what I'm talking about. Don't act like you don't know what I mean.

It's one thing to see a cool piece of fabric in a shop and know that you NEED a sizable chunk of it in your stash. But it's something altogether different to be the designer of the print and to have waited 8 months from the time the artwork was created to see that artwork on fabric!

You're probably thinking that I've been doing this long enough that the novelty should have worn off by now...? I know artists like that. I'm glad I'm not one of them. I still get excited to see the latest thing I've done turned into something that others will get excited about with me. And, especially, to know that they'll take that piece of my artwork and incorporate it in their own artwork. Wow! That's really cool to me...still.

So, how would you like to be among the first to get some of this in your own hands to use in your artwork? Here's the deal: Anyone who has signed up to follow my blog (there's a link in the right margin) by the end of the day on Monday, December 7th, will be entered into another drawing to receive 2 yards of Satinesque Stripe. The prize package will be four half yard cuts in Christmas colors! Seriously, when they're put together, they remind me of old-fashioned Christmas ribbon candy. Very cool.

Be sure that you have an email address in your profile so that you can be notified if you win. It only takes a few seconds to sign up and I really appreciate your support as I try to grow my blog's audience.

That's all for now. As busy as it is around here lately, I'm sure I'll have more news soon. In the meantime, I hope you're enjoying the season.

Cheers!

P.S. I'll be doing lots of bindings with this stripe, especially bias-cut!

New Fabric Collection!

I also have a new fabric collection to show you. It's a companion print to Satinesque called Satinesque Stripe that comes in a beautiful range of colors. Click the link to take a look. This should be arriving at your local quilt shop in early December! Judging by the popularity of Satinesque, you'll want some of this collection as well. We've also added 14 new colors to freshen up Satinesque. Here's a look at a bundle of the vibrant new colors.

Don't forget my fairly new and VERY popular Dot-to-Dot collection and Scribbles (which may be getting a couple more coordinates added to the line soon :-)

I've been having lots of fun designing new projects with these fun-to-use fabrics.

Hope all's well with you.

What a day!

First of all, Lily is here with me today and that always makes for a good day. Then, a gorgeous floral arrangement showed up from my friends at C&T Publishing to congratulate me on our new book and my advance copy arrived almost simultaneously with the flowers. The book looks great and, as I said in my last post, enough time has passed since the final work I did on it that it looked almost brand new to me. I hope you'll consider adding it to your collection. I believe the release date is June 16th.

As if all of that wasn't exciting enough, FedEx showed up again this afternoon with a box from Robert Kaufman Fabrics. I was expecting a couple of sample yards of "Satinesque" but I thought this box was too big for that. I was right...it wasn't just a couple of sample yards but a couple of yards of each of the 29 colors we're introducing! Seeing the whole collection when I opened the box was such a rush. And, since I still have a few projects to make for my new book that I'm working on, I'll be able to use some of them in it. I can't wait to start.

One of the things I'm happiest about with this new fabric is this: If you take a look here, you'll see a scan of the artwork from which this fabric was printed. Click here and you'll see a scan of the actual fabric (enlarged) or here for a detail that actually looks hand painted. I think you'll agree that it's a great reproduction, on fabric, of the artwork. That's what we strive for. Not only are the colors rich and vibrant but there is a depth and dimension that was beautifully recreated also. Take a look here for a couple more colors I scanned and a list of the colors we'll introduce.
